About The Brand

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN …

Founded in Sydney in 2020 by designer Ruba Sibai, Mod Squad is a contemporary modest fashion label defined by considered design, refined simplicity and a distinctive approach to colour.

Ruba’s relationship with fashion began long before Mod Squad. Entering the industry at 18, she opened her first retail store at just 19 in 2003, before moving into design and creating a girlswear label that would go on to reach an international market. More than two decades of experience across retail, design and fashion have shaped an instinctive understanding of what women want to wear—and what has often been missing from the modest fashion landscape.

Mod Squad began quietly, as a personal project.

Unable to find modest pieces that reflected her own aesthetic, Ruba began designing for herself—clean silhouettes, elevated essentials and thoughtfully curated colours that felt contemporary rather than conventional. The intention was never simply to create modest clothing, but to create beautiful clothing where modesty felt inherent to the design.

What started personally resonated widely.

As the collections gained a following, Mod Squad evolved into the label it is today, with a growing international presence and collections stocked worldwide, including on THE ICONIC.

At its core, Mod Squad is a wardrobe of elevated basics, signature hijabs and considered fashion pieces designed to work together and transcend seasons. An emphasis on silhouette, fabrication, versatility and colour gives each collection its identity, balancing ease with polish and modernity with timelessness.

FABRIC DEETS

Breathable polyester is a lightweight, moisture-wicking fabric engineered to allow airflow and draw moisture away from the skin, helping you stay cool and comfortable. This is the signature fabric behind Mod Squad’s considered approach.

Designed in Sydney and worn globally, Mod Squad continues to evolve with the same instinct that began it: a new expression of modest dressing—considered, effortless and distinctly modern.

ETHICAL PRACTICES

Mindfully made. Our garments are produced in factories committed to ethical practices, packaged in biodegradable satchels, and shipped primarily by sea to help minimise our environmental footprint. We’re also developing a natural-fibre collection to offer a gentler fabric option for those with sensitive skin or specific skin concerns.
